| Day 14 - Last Day - Travel Home Sights leaving Virginia. The Pentagon and Washington Monument as we cross DC. Up Maryland, through Delaware, drop off Loo in Philadelphia and finally home. 282 miles to the great sights of Manhattan from the BQE. Just look at those smiles! |
2003 August Long Trip Recap - 14 Days, 14 States and DC, 5 States and DC twice, 3,556.3 miles on lead vehicle, 6 scouts (first class and
higher), 4 adults (3 drivers), 2 vehicles and a 4' x 6' box trailer. All planned primary activities accomplished plus amusement park. Secondary
activities (climbing and Huntsville) left off due to time restraints primarily caused by mechanical (trailer) delays. Eight participants were on
their second consecutive long trip, three were on their third consecutive long trip. All raved about the activities, all would like less daily
average mileage on the next one. The itinerary was formulated and developed by the scout participants of Troop 17.
Did I hear? "Go West in '04 for 4" '02 and '03 were just warm ups for the real thing " a 4 week Western trip in '04"
