Day 11 - Continued - Okefenokee, GA
Did you catch the size of that spider? on pg 2.
At the nature center they were treated to a live
reptile show and tell. Then it was on to the
alligator feeding pens. On the canoe trek they
were in the wild with wild alligators, now they
were going to see the captive alligators'
feeding. These activities were moderated by a
park keeper who was very informative,
needless to say
"brave". The alligators may
have been captive but they certainly were not
tame, evidenced by how they acted during the
feeding. Judging by the amount of photos
taken on the trip this appeared to be one of
the most popular stops. Either that or we
armed the scouts with too many cameras.
Another 229 miles to Santee State Park, SC
where we have decided to camp since the
boys were done by 3:00 PM and the trailer
tires have been replaced. The remaining
schedule does not allow for much flex time.
