09/12-14/03 - Alpine Scout Camp

The first overnight of the 2003-2004 scouting
year. The goal was to get everyone back into
the normal flow of the scout year after a very
hectic but exciting summer. Advancements
was key to the weekend's program, even with
the rain. The climbing wall was closed, but
the scouts got to test a soda making machine
in the dining hall. The archery range was
open in between the rain showers. The
scouts were creative, as they waited out the
rain delays, on the fort's parapet.
Firebuilding was a major preoccupation due to the weather conditions. Tenting, poisonous
plants, and tree identification requirements were also a major focus. Scrabble seems to be
the new passion for the boys in the evening. Intense competition and discussion are
usually the order of the day when the board is out. Everyone seems to want to play.
