| Climbing Wall Preparation |
| Portable Climbing Wall Preparation Thursday, August 15, 2002 Annual rite of getting the Troop's 16 foot high portable climbing wall in shape for the new scout year. The event went well. 10 Scouts from Troop 17 participated as well as a significant group from Troop 79. The day started at 9 AM and did not finish until 7 PM. The wall was assembled and raised before lunch. Scouts cooked and ate a lavish lunch of burgers, dogs, chips and chili. Everyone had an opportunity to climb at least two times during the afternoon. Special kudos to those who accomplished this feat for the first time ever. The wall was disassembled, repaired and returned to storage to await the Maspeth street fair and the fall recruiting effort. |
