| Bear Mountain/Harriman State Park, 08/17/02 Even with heavy traffic, well. The scouts had a chance to swim, and rival among the older members, showing off their newly found skill. Once we got there, we went on a short hike around the area. We stopped along the way to point out various trees that the scouts would later have to identify for the Tree Identification requirement. We walked around the wildlife center, and saw many of America's wild and endangered creatures, including foxes, black bears, bald eagle, rattle snakes, many birds, and a lot of other wild critters. Lunch took a little longer than usual, but it was all worth it, after resting our tired feet, we satisfied our hungry stomachs with the normal American lunch of hamburgers and hotdogs. After lunch we played various sports, of football, catch, and swimming. The younger members were able to get a chance to learn the necessary skills of water sports. We all had fun splashing and swimming in the waist high shorline of lake Welch.. We all crawled out of the water, tired and weary, and slept on the long drive home. |
